Actresses complaining about ageism is like an NFL player bitching about being discriminated against because he's over 40 and no team will sign him. Each profession puts a premium on vitality; the football player needs to be young and in shape to perform well and the actress needs to be young and in shape for marketing and asthetic purposes (its a fucking visual art form after all...).

Its no different for men either. You think John Travolta is ever gonna portray Thor at his age? Fuck no, he gets penalized for ageism as well. Its always gonna be someone younger and in amazing shape like Chris Hemsworth. Its the way the industry works.

As a longtime subscriber to IMDbPro, I am confused by this story. The site allows anyone who is listed (actors, directors, composers, crew etc. etc. etc.) to "claim" their page, giving them control over several aspects of the page, including their resume. Many actors who have claimed their page have removed any mention of their age. They usually say something like "plays ages 30 to 50."
