9-5 job. Mon-Fri. Been hitting the gym in the mornings before work for 2 years. I HATE working out in the evenings. It's always packed, can't do a complete workout, spend extra time there, etc.

I LOVE working out in the mornings. I get to work feeling very focused, energized, pumped, and alpha.

Well I was asked by a female co-worker (not supervisor) if I could come in early tomorrow since we need to work on some projects. I am confident that I can finish the projects if I come in at my regular hours.

Female co-worker has over 2 years with the company and I have 4 months, so she does have more power and influence than me, but she isn't technically labeled a manager or supervisor.

More context, it is very hard for me to hit my macros if I don't go to the gym in the morning. I am currently eating 3,900 cals, and if I don't exercise, I won't have much of an appetite throughout the day.

I can go to the gym after work, since I would be getting off earlier, but gym in the evenings suck.

I feel as if I am hamstering this too much and should just suck it up and come to work like I was asked and maybe skip the gym but maybe that's hamstering too.

What I primarily feel like doing is just texting her, "Hey, I can't come in early tomorrow, it was too late of a notice." The consequences of this choice I feel are a bunch of shit tests coming from her (I'm not worried, since tomorrow is leg day, so I'll walk into worked pumped with testosterone, energy, and focus), although worst case scenario would be that she complains to HR manager and I am labeled as a bad employee because I chose the gym over coming in early for work. My only excuse would be that I was notified too late, which is appropriate I believe.

Like I said, I am confident I can finish the projects in time. Also, maybe by doing what she says, I am submitting to her, and I'll be giving a message that I'll just do anything anyone says.
