Holy shit, I didn't know how much domestic violence against men is seen as a joke in modern media in places where it'd be seen as heinous with women.

It is EVERYWHERE.

The second I* went into the "consider if the genders were reversed" mindset, I began to see just how fucking worthless men are seen. There's this kid show, "Amazing World of Gumball", and they had a whole episode dedicated to making a joke about one of the main characters is stuck in a violent relationship. Of course, the show would never hint that he could simply defend himself. Heavens no! Violence against women is deplorable, after all.

And you see that "*"? As I was writing this, Agents of Sheld S3E2 was playing and they made a joke about this very subject. This old man's daughter was chopping veggies aggressively and he joked that his wife would do the same to warm him to "stay in line".

It just proves my point that this shit isn't only accepted but seen as hilarious.
