Child is going on two years old right now, and I'm not involved for a number of reasons that aren't the focus of this post.
I'm paying $700 in child support. I have a college education and decent job, while she is waiting tables (I think? Not in contact). We (the lawyer I had and I) tried for a better agreement during the "trial", but in my state it's just an equation that I was on the losing side of.
My general goal would be to buy a house as soon as possible, and then begin ngeotiations to change the current set up. Unfortunately, the support payments (in addition to my student loans) are seriously choking me. I can't get ahead to save the money for a house. Which puts me in a shitty catch 22.
Anyone in a similar situation? Anyone get out of it somehow? Work is going well, and I'm putting alot of effort into making more money. It's just difficult when I know such a large chunk of my spendable income goes to her.
