Nonetheless, his life was still ruined.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (63 children) | Copy Link

And his accuser will never see a day in prison.

[+][deleted] -20 points-19 points-18 points 8 years ago* (62 children) | Copy Link

Of course not - she shouldn’t. What crime did she commit?

EDIT: Can anyone explain why he is innocent until proven guilty, but she is guilty until proven innocent? I'm super confused here - does "innocent until proven guilty" only apply to men or something? I really don't understand - could someone help explain?

[–]Lethn 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (57 children) | Copy Link

Obstruction of justice and defamation.

[+][deleted] -15 points-14 points-13 points 8 years ago (56 children) | Copy Link

Where is the evidence that she committed obstruction of justice or defamation?

[–]Lethn 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (55 children) | Copy Link

I know this is a lousy excuse but I'll find another article source, the IBTimes popup is completely preventing me from reading lol :(

https://www.rt.com/uk/406384-tinder-indecent-assault-sex/

There we go.

A male medical graduate has been convicted of indecent assault after repeatedly grabbing his Tinder date’s breasts, even though the two were engaged in consensual sex.

Saying the case had “substantially ruined” the defendant’s life, David Steenson, defending, added: “Queree is in a parlous financial state, as he does not have a job.

If the courts have found it to be a load of bullshit, that means she lied about what happened which meant she broke the law because she was trying to cover up what happened and this happens all the time with false accusers when the cases fall apart.

Then as for the defamation, she got him put on the sex offenders registry and so on which meant the guy is pretty much unemployable and as has been described in the articles has completely put his livelihood at risk. There is also the social stigma of being accused of this, which a lot of people don't like talking about where you have innocent guys that have their names dragged through the mud and nobody wants to associate with them all because of the lies of an accuser.

Now the defamation one is a bit shaky in this case, because she's kept completely anonymous and hasn't gone to the media in this rare case but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more than enough evidence of her causing a huge amount of damage to his social life because of the accusation.

In regards to other cases, it's very common for false accusers to go to the media first before talking to the police because they want to ruin their reputations in either revenge or jealousy and once they've done that they're happy because it takes a lot to recover from when that sort of thing happens.

Lethn, the femininst came in here and came to their same rash double-standard laden "conclusions."

They're either purposely disingenuous, or so stupid they can't have a discussion that follows logic because they don't understand logic structures.

So flagellate yourself because the guy actually did it because "penis."

You see, being around women gives us dopamine, so they can't do bad things because good feeling brain chemical because "do what thou wilt."

You see, lethn, it isn't about reality. It's about feelings. And feminists will always beat you there. The girl lied in court, but that only matters when men do it because women aren't a threat. They are wonderful because look at them, listen to them, don't think just do.

[–]Lethn 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I thought it was a bit far to say she lied in court and corrected myself, because we don't know the details yet, as for feminists 'beating' me, nah, not going to happen that easily.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where does it say the girl lied in court?

[+]RoastedCocoanut1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (51 children) | Copy Link

If the courts have found it to be a load of bullshit, that means she lied about what happened which meant she broke the law because she was trying to cover up what happened and this happens all the time with false accusers when the cases fall apart.

Where did the courts find it to be a load of bullshit? The courts just said that it was still assault, just not indecent assault.

Please read the article next time. It seems like you haven't read more than just the headline and the first few sentences.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Do you even care about what HAS been proven? That yet another man had his life ruined on the basis of NO evidence when he should have been entitled to anonymity until proven guilty?

Comment on THAT please or you just look like a feminist shill.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

He was proven guilty of the crime itself. It is now being overturned because they want him to be charged with assault, a lesser charge. He still committed a very serious crime that he has been proven guilty of, so I'm not sure why you're so angry.

[–]Lethn 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (48 children) | Copy Link

Please explain to me then why when it is a false accusation it takes so long for courts to reach a decision on the verdict yet when they catch actual rapists or harassers ( Who are often male feminists ) it's very easy to convict them?

This is downgrading, I grant you, no they haven't yet completely cleared him, but dodgy court proceedings very often attempt to downgrade the punishments of the accused to try and get them to take the punishment rather than fight it out. I admit I jumped to conclusions, but I've seen this behaviour in court cases so many fucking times I've gotten deeply cynical about anything that does a back and forth in these situations, they're trying to get him to capitulate and he's not having it.

It's like these joke interrogation sessions they have in universities where they pretty much say "Admit you're a rapist or you assaulted her and we'll go easier on you".

[+]RoastedCocoanut1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (47 children) | Copy Link

It's not easy to convict them. Only about 6% of rapists will ever spend a day in jail. Rape cases are often drawn out for months, sometimes even years.

Please read the article next time before you accuse an innocent victim of committing a very serious crime and calling her a liar. It's honestly pretty disgusting of you to call victims "liars" because their assault got downgraded to regular assault. Imagine the outcry if the genders were reversed.

[–]Lethn 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago* (17 children) | Copy Link

Please answer me this question then, if it's so 'difficult' to convict rapists, why are so many male feminists getting actual convictions?

Please read the article next time before you accuse an innocent victim of committing a very serious crime and calling her a liar.

You see you just accused me of doing that but you're more than willing to act like the guy is the criminal in this case when the court is clearly having to re-think their decision quite drastically why is it that I'm being held to a higher standard here yet you don't have to hold yourself to the same standard in regards to evidence?

What are you going to do if he gets his case overturned entirely?

Also, I just looked up the statistic you cited.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/7442785/Rape-conviction-rate-figures-misleading.html

as many as one in ten rape allegations could be false

the binge drinking culture has increased the risk of rape

nine in ten rapes go unreported

conflicting targets for police and prosecutors is damaging the pursuit of charges

[–]bufedad 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

Only about 6% of rape accusations are ever proven true.

Of course only 8% are proven false.

[–]Rolten 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What crime did she commit?

This case kinda sucks for this example, as the guy was probably in the wrong. He was waaayy to rough apparently and that's not ok. So in this case, she might be in the right for suing him for assault because he was causing her pain even though she had told him to stop.

However, in this case (if I'm not mistaken), she sued him for touching her breasts. To me, that's an absolutely incredibly normal part of sex, and probably to 99.9% of society. If you're already engaged in PIV, you don't ask if you may touch her breasts. It's part of the act.

Since she sued him for something very normal, she has wasted a lot of the court's time and ruined his reputation, causing him great harm. So for that, she's in the wrong.

It's a clusterfuck though. She sued him for the wrong thing and he's very wrong for hurting her.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She didn’t sue him for the wrong thing. Her lawyer fucked up by choosing indecent assault instead of regular assault. Let’s not blame the victim here.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The only victim here is the man who was falsely accused.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Who was falsely accused?

[–]v574v 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Their mistake was in the charge indecent assault.

They should of just went for assault.

[–]Mon_arch 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This.

It is not the fact that he was touching her breasts, it was the fact that he was doing it to roughly, cause bruising and her to cry.

[–]Mon_arch 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The thing that determines the validity of this case is the severity of the bruising.

I work with my hands and have a strong grip. This has caused bruises and pain for people without my intention or even knowledge that I had used too much force. Nothing crazy or has shaped (thank got) but the occasional blue spot in some areas. So due to many variables, what he thought was an ok amount of pressure was not to her, and caused a small level of bruising and discomfort. This did not need to go to court and should have been resolved between them.

On the other hand, if her chest looks like she has been through a car accident or beaten with a bat, that is definitely a cause for this to go to court.

[–]Arby01 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

the validity of this case is the severity of the bruising.

I wouldn't hold that too strongly. I had an ex that would bruise exceptionally easily. She could lightly bump a table walking through a cafeteria and a day later you would think she took a whack from a golf club. Black center, blue patterning and red lines. It was actually quite unnerving with a lot of our interaction, because I also have a strong grip and would easily leave fingertip bruising without even closing my grasp.

This is really tough, was he actually too rough, or was it spur of the moment misunderstanding that he corrected?

[–]Mon_arch 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

True.

In the article they do a very poor job describing what he was actually doing to her. There’s a very large difference between unknowingly being over-aggressive/ leaving bruises/causing pain and intentionally ignoring her protests and trying to harm her.

I think I was trying to illustrate that what mattered was the intent and damage, and I left out the part about intent.

[–]Arby01 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

we agree.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Gotta say-I was one of the FIRST to post the injustice of this here on the day the accusations broke.

And what happened? The constantly lurking feminists incited racial hatred and the percentage of racist MRA posters to slam him.

Now it looks like I was right. Smug mode engaged. You're welcome.

[+]mwobuddy -23 points-22 points-21 points 8 years ago* (16 children) | Copy Link

technically, consent to sex isnt consent to grab a tit.

go ahead triggered bitch, prove me wrong.

[–]v574v 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It reads like her objection isn't that her tits were grabbed it's that he was aggressive enough to cause her physical pain.

Me shaking hands with you isn't assault but if I squeeze hard enough to break your bones... They charged him with shaking hands instead of breaking bones - so they fucked up the charge.

[–]berlengas 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

well, tit sex is a sub part of sex so, when you are consenting to sex you are consenting to be touched on the tits

[–]mwobuddy -3 points-2 points-1 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

well anal sex is a sub part of sex so she cant say she was violated by me shoving it in her ass.

well oral sex is a sub part of sex so she cant say she was violated by me shoving it in her mouth.

Stop that nonsense.

Agreement to PiV is not agreement to grabbing tits or oral or anal.

[–]berlengas 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

i would love to know how do you make love mann. There is a reason 2nd base comes first than 3rd

[–]v574v 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are technically correct and this position is the reason for overreaching governments pushing their way into our bedrooms with affirmative consent.

I prefer having an adult conversation before hand of boundaries and dislikes so there's no surprises although these days I've been married a few years and we rely on a rapport system that we've developed.

If people don't want to follow affirmative consent or have a conversation or haven't been together long enough to develop a rapport - there's bound to be some misunderstandings and the courts get to sort it out.

Hopefully justice will be served when it is sorted out.

[–]Rolten 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I think that in this case it depends on what we generally see as part of an act.

In this case, they were having PIV. I think that in every normal person's book, touching or grabbing a tit or a buttocks is absolutely a part of that. Hands tend to be all over the place. If you'd ask people on the streets if that was ok they would probably vehemently agree.

Part of PIV is not always oral or anal. Those are very different acts. You don't do that without consent.

It's like asking if I can make out with a girl and we proceed to do so for a while, and I then also touch her with my hands. Touch her back, her sides, back of her head? Absolutely normal, even though she didn't explicitly consent to that. Shoving my hands down her pants? Yeah, that's not a part of kissing.

It's just common sense and common practice, and that's why he won the appeal.

[–]mwobuddy 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Only because this is the 'cultural norm'.

[–]Rolten 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

And the cultural norm is what we operate our day-to-day lives by and how we interact. Are you different than 99.99% of people? State so beforehand.

[–]mwobuddy 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The cultural norm pre 1990 was "spouse rape is okay".

just lie back and think of england and do your duty.

Now its something we can't imagine ever having again.

[–]Rolten 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

We're talking about touching boobs here while bodies are grinding against each other and one person's dick is in the others vagina.

If you can't see the ridiculousness of having to ask permission for such a little thing while you're doing all that, then that's just rather odd. Either you're dramatic and stupid, or I'm on the wrong side of history. Time will tell.

[–]mwobuddy 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

we're talking about grabbing a tit when you're grinding up against a girl in a dance club.

It only takes a few degrees to make it verboten.

[–]Rolten 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, because during one you're at fourth base and during the other you're not even at first. The difference between some grinding in a dance club and having sex is night and day.

does consent to vag sex give you consent to put it in her ass automatically?

[–]aokusman 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Totally different from touching breaths. So if she had touched his ass, would that be assault?
