Compared to when I became an MRA in high school in 2010, the MRM is far more prevalent and in people's public consciousness. During 2017, the conversation and atmosphere surrounding social issues seems to have gotten both more intense and more open, and for the first time we're starting to see mainstream figures at odds with the SJW narrative, even if they don't quite understand what's really going on, they're starting to get the feeling that something is happening. This is an opening and opportunity for us. 2018 should be the year where the MRM steps up and becomes a visible, talked about social topic in day to day life and conversation.

Firstly, we can organize a hashtag and coordinate posting so it becomes trending. Something like

MRA2018

Mensrights2018

etc. This could be a build up, something that will evolve over time, as people can use the hashtag to promote facts (eg "Did you know that X number of countries still practice male only conscription? #Mensrights2018" or "In India, there is no legal statute protection men from sexual harassment or rape #Mensrights 2018)

Something I like to do that I think is a good idea is posting MRA fliers. It's easy to do, I just make an word document with a fact sheet or issue breakdown, or just something like

"Feel that the conversation of gender equality is one sided? You're not alone. Learn the truth about the men's rights movement."

And hang them up all over- bathrooms, grocery stores, universities, public transport, etc. There's lots of places with posting boards around where lots of people will see it.

Lots of people coming out publicly as being MRAs would be one of the most impact way to increase visibility and dialogue, and well as change perception, but that's something you have to be prepared for and ready to do.

I'm going to start being more active after New Years. I live in L.A and would love to start a casual MRA meetup group for anyone else in the area. I'll post some examples of the fliers I'm going to make as well.
