Article from AVfM pointing out that exaggerating gender differences promotes gynocentrism and is inimical to men's rights

Given the large number of comments in a recent post that seem to be adamant on pushing a deterministic agenda where men and women are 'intrinsically' different, I thought that this article from AVfM would be a useful reminder that exaggerating differences between men and women leads to chivalry and is detrimental to men's rights.

I'm not going to argue whether or not men and women are 'biologically' different beyond anatomical differences. In my opinion, that is simply a distraction. Irrespective of whatever intrinsic differences there are between men and women, a key issue in men's rights is that men and women are simply not treated identically in society. Men are considered disposable and women are considered valuable. We, as a society, need to stop privileging individuals based on something as unchosen as gender.

Wow, something from avfm that I actually agree with, even though they missed the point:

Feminism has become conservative; they have climbed up the ladder ahead of men and are trying to pull it up behind them.

"Manspreading," for example; that's just a post-modernist excuse to keep the same privilege, i.e. men are supposed to give up their seats for women, just instead of it being because women are weaker, it's because men are pigs.

The old system wasn't good for men or women, but men have seriously gotten the short end of the stick under the new system. Maybe it's time we quit acting like this is a zero sum game.
