I am going through the process right now. Although this guy has a much more dire situation, the reality of the situation is simple, fathers are not viewed as anything other than walking wallets.

The system incentivizes the “man hopping” behavior we’re seeing. Why would a woman stay? If the next guy makes more money, why wouldn’t she go? She gets to take the kids, and she knows the courts will side with her. She knows she will get a monthly pay-check from the father of her children.

Oh, and get this... I also have to pay her attorney fees. Yeah.

My ex left me for a lawyer, took my daughter and moved in with him 5 months after we split.

I do alright, but I don’t make lawyer money. I had to move out of my apartment I was staying in in order to afford the current child support. I also cancelled my gym membership, my cable, and cut out any entertainment spending. I quite literally pay my bills and my child support, and there is nothing left. She quit her job because her new guy pays for everything now. She gets 40% of my take-home income.

Take a second and think about that. You know what your paychecks are. You see what gets deposited into your account each pay period after taxes and all that jazz. Now reduce it by 40%. Where does that leave you? It will absolutely change your lifestyle significantly.

Sorry to hear that. The system is heavily tilted towards women, no question.

They perpetuate the image of themselves as innocent victims, but most women know that the police and courts rule in their favour be default, and so abuse that system.

Often, it's not even a matter of support. It's simply revenge. Women realize that they can use the police and the courts as their own personal weapon.

If you look at BC family law case history, you start to realize that, as a man, fighting it generally only ends in a long, expensive process that is designed to break you, financially, psychologically, and emotionally.

And no only do people seem unwilling to change it, they're unwilling to acknowledge the inherent bias.

You're supposed to just grin and accept your role as the plough horse. All the friction and resistance is just to 'incent' you to just latch yourself up like a good horse and do your duty. The state doesn't want to pay, so they are going to set up a system to make sure that happens as rarely as possible.

grinds teeth at the injustice

Being in my early twenties, as an only child, my parents are always asking when I'll settle down and give them grandchildren. They'll never understand that I'm not opposed to having children, rather I'm opposed to being assraped in court by some entitled cunty bitch (not to mention being heart-broken when she decides I'm not good enough because I don't make as much money as rich lawyer dude). I read stories like yours, and it solidifies my decision to go my own way.

Do yourself a favor and go MGTOW..

Never put yourself in a vulnerable position to be fucked over by a vindictive woman and the biased courts that enable them.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be involved romantically with women... just be smart and think pragmatically about the situation. Don't have kids.. Don't get married.... and even be careful living together (check your local laws regarding common law marriage-- hell, some places in Canada/Australia if you move in with a single mother and live together for a couple years they will declare you as a father figure and you could have to pay child support-- that's how fucked up things have gotten).

Be smart... protect yourself and your assets.

It sucks that we have to live like this but remember it's not our fault. We're just adapting to our surroundings and looking out for our own well being.. because society in general sure as shit doesn't care about us..

And don't let your family or friends shame you, guilt trip you or pressure you into doing otherwise..

If you encounter somebody that does give you shit for protecting yourself... just remind them of all these problems we try to raise awareness for (biased divorce/family courts, false accusations, discrimination against male victims of Domestic violence, etc etc) and tell them that instead of shaming you.... they are more than welcome to become an MRA, take up the cause and actually do something about it.

Women should have no right, zero, zilch, to anything from a divorced mans pocket beyond child support.

Outdated bullshit means that men are still expected to pay for a womans life after they have left because for some reason the courts havent realised the date nor that women are now capable and legally able to gain employment.

I dont blame this man for what he did, I would probably do the same. But I would make sure that everyone knew exactly who was to blame, not just the courts, but the blood-sucking cunts who, even after winning, still pushed and pushed for more of what this man built for himself and his family.

So damn sad. He didn’t need to take his life over this. His kids are without their dad now.

Had a buddy threaten to quit his job in front of the judge if he didn’t lower the child support. He had no way to take care and provide for himself after she got granted 2k a month for one damn kid.

He quit his job on the spot. Contempt of court while calling his boss in the middle of the proceedings. He works under the table now, courts can’t prove anything but magically his daughter just got a car hand delivered by him. Eventually he will get caught up but it’s been years. She’s about to turn 17 so -shrug-

Fuck the courts and this shit. We aren’t a paycheck. We matter too.

His kids were without their dad before

[–]IDroppedtheGrenade 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He had a chance well...I take that back. He never had a chance so you’re correct.

[–]DarthCerebroX 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As I mentioned above to another user... just go MGTOW and think pragmatically about romantic relationships with women.

No kids... No marriage... and be very careful about living together.

It sucks that we have to live like this but it's not our fault... we didn't create this mess. We are just adapting to our environment and doing what we have to, to protect our well being.... because our society doesn't give a shit about us.

When more and more men start walking away from the institution of marriage, being fathers, etc etc.... then maybe society will start to care.

But until then... never put yourself in a vulnerable position to be fucked over by a woman, the biased courts that enable them... and our gynocentric society that approves of all this.

What I don’t get with these insane child support payments is that shouldn’t the female be in charge of paying some support for the child?

Why is it on the man to support the kid 100%?

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The "logic" behind it is you're reimbursing the custodial parent for their expenses. Currently the state says that whoever pays support does so to provide the child the financial support they would have had if their parents were still together; similar to the same flawed logic used to framework the idea of alimony: Oh you sacrificed everything to be with this person and now you have no marketable skills? Let's not hold you accountable for your choice and instead make your former partner PAY for your mistake.

Sure, we can argue that the child is an innocent in all this; that they had no choice in their parents splitting up, but the courts fail to see the faux equivalence they've propped up. If the child is meant to have the financial life they were supposed to have prior their parents splitting up, why does it require a condition they didn't have before: the extended emotional, mental, physical, and financial ruin of one parent?

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

The "logic" behind it is you're reimbursing the custodial parent for their expenses.

It has nothing to do with actual expenses, but is rather an ideological decision to generally even up the net income between the two houses so that one parent's money doesn't lure the kids. It's something a lot of jurisdictions are doing, because they've been sold on the fear of Dad using his generally greater income to woo those kids away from Mom. Rather than deal with that situation when it arises, they set up a system that ensures it will likely never happen.

As a result, there's a net transfer of money to Mom. If you have kids, you know approximately what they cost to maintain, so just run yourself up the federal child support calculator and you'll see right away that you only have to make a very tiny amount of money before your child support starts exceeding 50% of costs.

Mine was 135% of costs for years and years, which I pointed out to my ex all the time so we both knew I was subsidizing her lifestyle. My ex kept trying to justify it by lying outright about what things cost her. Court was funny, because she'd claim 25K in dental expenses for him, and I'd produce an affidavit from the dentist showing 1800 in actual costs. She'd claim 12K in entertainment expenses from his choir, I'd produce an affidavit with actual costs of 2850. No self respecting lawyer would have lied like that, but she was self represented.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It has nothing to do with actual expenses

Which is why in my comment, the word "logic" is in quotes. I know its bullshit. Always has been, always will be.

[–]Mens-Advocate 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The ostensible "logic" is just pretext for enslaving the male.

Alimony, child support, sole maternal custody, parental alienation, and alimony/support incarceration are all crimes against humanity.

[–]EssencialToLife 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Before sucide you have a mission. Bring the pain to the judge, to the court, the ex. Do not die before the mission is done. Dont let the same court fuck over your bros.

[–]GeekofFury 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Stuff like this just makes marriage look like a big no-no.

Always wear a condom. Get a vasectomy.

They label the MRM as a hate group. They label attempts to reform the family courts as an attack on women and children. So fine. Walk away from marriage and procreation.

do we not have welfare? why isn't there a limit on how much a man can pay, 8,000X12 = $96,000 a year. WTF, that's one hell of a job you would have to support that! what is this guy, some well payed specialist. welfare for an adult is ~$610 a month so assuming that each kid is a time and a half of that, 610X4=$2440 a month X12 = $29,280 a year. that should be how that works, the minimum amount is what he pays. if they want more, then they can work for it. getting a divorce shouldn't be a ticket to a comfy life.
