Child Safety Vs MHRA Political Views - A Criticism of Failure.

The recent events around a child asking for advice on how to prevent being circumcised has shown much-flawed thinking and attitudes amongst some here in the UK.

A child reporting they are in danger should have only one response - and that is reporting it to the NSPCC who have all the resources to track the child, locate them and intervene with Police, Social Services and others if necessary.

The other course of action is for YOU to call the Police using 101 and choosing the correct police force to be connected with. The Police will then liaise with the relevant agencies and act under the national Child Safety protocols.

That Mike B and his Political tomfoolery J4MB were more interested in seeking attention by Protest shows just how out of whack some are. No mention of child safety just a hurried dash to get publicity and media Access. - Shame On You Mike Buchanan and your coterie of followers.

Any rational adult should also report the issues to The NSPCC and be ready to hand over any and all information YOU have so that the NSPCC can locate the child.

What is the correct course of action where you live and who should a child in danger contact?

The NSPCC were acting on matters and acting long before the 1.00 pm (12.00 pm GMT) deadline as some had had the common sense to call them ..... though not Mike B et al.

In such a case, parental and adult coercion is illegal and abuse.

Consent for any procedure is valid only if the person or people giving consent understand the nature and implications of the procedure. To promote such an understanding of circumcision, parents and children should be provided with up-to-date written information about the risks. The BMA cannot envisage a situation in which it is ethically acceptable to circumcise a competent, informed young person who consistently refuses the procedure. As with any form of medical treatment, doctors must balance the harms caused by violating a child’s refusal with the harm caused by not circumcising. Often surgery for non-medical reasons is deferred until children have sufficient maturity and understanding to participate in the decision about what happens to their bodies, and those that are competent to decide are entitled in law to give consent for themselves. When assessing competence to decide, doctors should be aware that parents can exert great influence on their child’s view of treatment. That is not to say that decisions made with advice from parents are necessarily in doubt, but that it is important that the decision is the child’s own independent choice.

Darling if you knew anything about the case .... you could try reading.... You would know that it is Illegal in the UK for a doctor to perform any operation on a child where the child is able to give consent and refuses.

If a child is reporting that they are being subject to ILLEGAL behaviour the correct course of action is not to seek attention and run about trying to get media and an ill judged protest in place - The FIRST thing you do is PROTECT THE CHILD BY REFERRING TO THE CORRECT AGENCIES.

Any doctor failing to do as required above should be reported to Police and Child Protection First ..... and then you think about organising protests and seeking media attention.
