As long as they can also have gentlemen-only swimming classes I don't see a problem.

A lot of people feel more comfortable when they're with their peers.

It is a men's rights issue because it would be illegal if the roles were reversed. That amounts to systematic discrimination based on gender.

Is it ladies only swimming time, or is it a swimming class that is ladies only but men can still enter the pool and swim not involved in the class?

What other classes do they offer? Have men every tried to request a men's only class? Are the unisex classes as well?

More females use public swimming pools in the UK already by a lot so if anything they should be trying to encourage more men to go swimming.

Not if matched by equivalent men-only sessions. Otherwise... well, I hesitate to call it a men's "rights" issue but there's certainly an issue of consistency and fairness. And when feminists seem so hell bent on undermining or shutting down all-male spaces, it's hard to feel sorry when things like this happen.

On a practical note: in the neighbourhood I used to live in as a young man, the local swimming pool ran so many special sessions (women, mums and toddlers, pensioners, the disabled, aquarobics, and so on) and so many of those sessions were in peak hours, that it was almost impossible for a member of a non-protected group to find a time to go swimming. I think when it's that extreme, it does become an issue of rights: the right to access a taxpayer-funded service on equitable terms.

In that case, it changed a few years later and the timetable was nowhere near as restrictive, so I assume it was just an over-zealous manager.

There are three problems I have with this

1) back when I grew up in the nineties and early 2000s, my mom used to say that we live in very open country, where boys and girls go to school together. After classes, I would go to swim everyday and my mom would tell me in some countries men and women can't swim together because of backwardness and prejudices. The point is, we used to be proud about not segregating the sexes like the Arabs do. I guess we don't care anymore? I don't know but in my opinion we lost some openness and freedom in the last 15-20 years. Everything made a bit more sense back then. Women were not this entitled also.

2) if I feel uncomfortable around women, I would never dream of saying "well, let's kick all women out then! It's only fair!" I would NEVER think my feelings were all that important and I wouldn't think I have a right to men only hours. But these women, they do. How entitled are they? It's insane to think like that. How much value do these women place on their feelings to think that them being uncomfortable is enough of a reason to kick out an entire demographic for hours?

3) if I went to swimming with my son, what should I tell him? How do I explain to him that he must get out because he's a problem to women's feelings? How??? It's insane.

Also, the big problem is, guess what :they charge men as much as women, even though we have less available access to the swimming pool. It's borderline unconstitutional.

The story is pretty simple: Ladies-only swimming times runs at most leisure centres here in the UK.

Someone made a complaint saying this violated pro-equality legislature.

A counter petition was made to get the ladies only swimming reinstated, with over 4000 signatures.

No it's not a Men's Rights Issue - It ls a legal issue of discrimination which affects men and many others who are not heard and are actively discriminated against due to Gynocentric Screeching.

Where are the Children Only Swimming Sessions? (Age Discrimination)
Where are the Pensioner Only Swimming Sessions? (Age Discrimination)?
Where are the Disabled Only Swimming Sessions? (Disability Discrimination)
Where are the Men Only Swimming Sessions? (Sex Discrimination)
Where are the Religiously Sensitive Swimming Sessions? (Racial and Religious and Sex Discrimination*)

Let's make it clear that one session such as Men Only can be multi factorial for discrimination - meeting Religious needs for men and women to be separate - Ref Jewish religious groups - Islamic sensibility.

One wonders if the Swimming Pool that is so worried about women's needs has considered if anyone can see into the pool whilst women only and considered how to Cover Windows to prevent oversight and comply with the religious needs of those affected.

I'm sick to death of the Gynocentric Screeching of discrimination when so many others are just ignored because VAGINA!
