Medical leaders and health experts have put the growing numbers down to pressure from popular culture and social media.

I'm more inclined to think it's due to reducing dating opportunities and the onset of the midlife crisis. Coincides with highest suicide rates too.

It seems as if males are beginning to develop problems a lot of females have, body image issues are being more prevalent.
