It's disgusting. The boy is becoming a man. His mum may love him but she can't teach him how to be a man. He is obviously reaching out to his father in a desire to explore his growing adult identity. Maybe, shock horror, he sees his father as a role model in this process of self descovery. His step dad is simply not his real dad. Once again 'the interests of the child' are really 'the interests of the mother and fuck the child'. Equality feminist style.

The whole letter came across as on patronizing spiel that shows that the judge doesn't like the father and doesn't really give a shit about the boys wishes.

From a purely statistical level , moving to Scandinavia would be the better choice. Better schools , less crime etc etc.

Just because hes doing ok in the UK , doesn't make it in his best interests.
