I got told by the doctors receptionist that as the father of my 9 week old child I cannot take her for her immunisations. Apparently the mother has to do it. Thoughts?

It is illegal in the UK. The NHS would really hammer the GP's practice for this. They want to encourage men to go to the doctors in the UK.

This is bullshit! Phone the cqc and put in a complaint. If you're married or if you've signed the birth certificate, you have parental responsibility and can do these things.

I'm guessing if I was a single dad I couldn't go.

I've never been turned away from an immunization, but our town is fairly small and my ex made the news in a big way. The kids' pediatrician is well aware of our situation.

I have had other difficulties, though. When my son needed help with school work, the therapist recommended to us by the school flatly refused to get involved. Same issue was true when there were legal issues floating around, therapists do not want to take on complicated cases.

to the original point, I would get that in writing next time. They'll get more careful once they realize you're gathering evidence.
