This is great I think.

People won't change their mind on FGM because of that, there's way too much feeling behind it. It'll just help people to realize that having big names defending a practice doesn't make it okay, hence making it more likely for people to question all GM instead of just FGM.

Alan Dershowitz is a voracious opponent of genital integrity for male infants, and supports male genital mutilation; even going so far as to mock men who are suffering:

The only reason that his is joined the defence team, is that it would be a disaster for the pro-circ crowd if it was declared there is no religious defence to FGM. Because if that were so, then de-facto, there is no religious defence to MGM.
