This was a big case where I live, she claimed all sort of things without really offering up any proof, including that he had 13TB of child porn, but the police never found any.

Australia is a pretty developed country in terms domestic abuse prevention and there was plenty of other avenues she could have taken such as going to the police.

Australian government: "We need to spend an extra $100m per year providing resources for women facing domestic violence, so that they can ignore them and just kill their husbands in their sleep instead. And that's perfectly fine".

Apart from getting a pussypass on her prison sentence, there's something else that makes this even worse.

The woman is a foreign national. Standard procedure in Australia is that when a foreign national is convicted of a serious crime, their visa is cancelled while they're in prison. When their sentence is up, they're deported back to their country of origin and not allowed to return to Australia.

In this case, feminists lobbied the government to allow her to stay in the country after being released, and our disgustingly gynocentric government caved and granted her permanent residency. Fucking disgusting.

I can't find any online evidence of him being abusive. The only thing i found was a report saying that several friends and relatives said that they seemed happy, nobody saying she had a lot of unexplained bruises etc. Similar cases i have seen, there has usually been a bunch of people coming forward to support the accused person's story. In this case, nothing. Very suspicious. Then there's the "i can't remember" bit. Like i said, very suspicious.

I am sure if an immigrant man bashed his wife's head in with a hammer, claimed he was abused, and the wife had a bunch of phantom CP, he would be treated the exact same way in australia. Right?
