Take what I'm about to tell you and learn from me.

FWB fucked on and off last December-January. Told me she was on BC, me being a fucking idiot, believed her. She tells me shes pregnant in Feburary. We both agreed on an abortion in March (I paid half, she sent me the receipt). Cut contact.

Fast forward to May, she texts me out of the blue and says she never went through with the abortion, 22 weeks pregnant, and has had a boyfriend since March. Told me I don't have to be in the picture and wouldn't pursue me for Childsupport but would co-op parent if I wanted to be involved.

I told her I need to figure things out and we need to take a paternity test, she agreed. We took the test last Friday, results should be in next week. Gut feeling it's mine, even though she's known to sleep around. Jokingly asked if her boyfriend was going to be there for the delivery, she said he respects the moment for the bio-father....

The thought of not being in the picture punched in my mind when she said that and have reconsidering everything. I'm torn between staying and not.

She still lives with her parents and according to her, they're over the hills about having a grandchild and are more than likely going to raise him.

I don't want to be a part time dad while some other guy raises him to standards/values that arent my own. I don't want the responsibility and time commitment right now due to school. I'm just afraid if I don't man up now, I'm going to regret it later in life. I wanted to eventually find a proper wife and raise a family in the sense of traditional values. Not bring an illegitimate child into the equation. What would you guys do in this situation if you were giving an out? She's been clear that she would rather be a single mother, but respects my decision and wouldn't be mad-but she lied about an abortion so I'm not sure what to believe.
