I doubt that this kind of call to action will have any effect. Women seem to be able to wield identity politics as a weapon much more effectively than men. People don't willingly give up power.

If we recognize chivalry (men's out-group preference for women) as an obstacle, then we should equally recognize that that women's in group preference is probably an even more effective barrier to changing the direction of this ship than men's chivalry.

I hope someone can convince me I am being too cynical.

Why are you even here?

At this point, I assume that people like you are just shills trying to make everyone else cynical.

'You all may as well not even try. Just give up. There is no hope!'. I find it hard to believe that someone who actually believes that would waste their time here, let alone use that time to convince other people that their efforts are worthless and hopeless. Yet that's all 80% of the comments on this sub are.

I have to assume shills. Nobody else spends their time convincing other people not to care about something.

You're right I do have hope.

Let me reorganize my thoughts in that light.

I think it's great to ask women to step up. I think its much more important to ask ourselves as men to change. TRP & MGTOW are very clear about how they think men should change.

There seems to be a lot less clarity about what men should do from mensrights.

If we can address that issue I guess we would see a lot less cynics here.

I'm new here, and unsure yet of the etiquette, so please let me know if any of the following is inappropriate.

I've commented about this on another thread, and would be very interested in your thoughts. But not sure about whether cross-posting is a no-no &/or whether or not those posts would even be suitable for this subreddit.

I think Dr. Peterson, while right about most things, is wrong about this one (specifically his comments about chivalry), or perhaps merely misinformed. Although, as I've said on other threads, it's hard to know without having a copy of the full speech.

I think the horrible situation we're in vis a vis the gender wars is predominantly because of chivalry, or perhaps that should be misplaced or misapplied chivalry?

I'm very sympathetic to men's issues (although I don't necessarily agree with 'men's rights' precisely because I don't agree with 'women's rights'). I'm more of the mindset (in agreement with JBP) that there is nothing that's bad for men that's good for women, and vice versa. I believe we all need to get back to talking about human rights and responsibilities and whether or not they are being applied equally. I don't see 'opposing (or helping) pathological women' as a gender issue any more than I see opposing (or helping) pathological men is. I believe it's falsely being attributed to gender when what we're really talking about is the unequal application of justice. Not to mention the unequal offering of aid and support.

Most men, who have completely legitimate grievances about feminism, seem to have little awareness that feminism attacks non-feminist women as hard as it does men, especially those who speak up. And it is as dangerous to non-feminist women as it is to men.

I completely agree that women need to speak up for men, the same as they should speak up to right any wrong - for anyone. However ... Women who, as Dr. Peterson suggest, do speak up against pathological women generally pay a very heavy price, but Dr. Peterson falsely believes that the price they pay is less than it would be for men. Everyone needs to speak up for each other, and we all need - equally - to hold bad actors to account.

As for Dr. Peterson's assertion: the problem as I see it is that there are many women who have been speaking up and taking fire for years, and not enough of anyone - male or female - backing them up. If we make this into yet another gender divided issue and don't all back each other up when fighting the same cause, it will be much more difficult to get anywhere.
