IMO, I think this would be perfectly justified. If someone is breaking the law, I think it's fine to report them to the authorities for it, even if you are motivated to do so by revenge.

Businesses that avoid tax by doing things like this only make things harder for law-abiding business owners who do the right thing and have to compete with them while paying higher costs. I say go ahead and report.

I can't stand moral self-righteousness, so when it comes to stuff like this I simply way up the actual benefits of performing such an action. I think I vaguely remember your story from awhile back and I completely understand why you'd still be angry about it, it was unfair treatment, the boss was clearly in the wrong and nobody stood up for you or told her to shut up.

To me, this is almost everything wrong with society generally, you see this kind of thing in all kinds of organisations and even countries. It's usually a few tyrants intimidating everybody else into silence and doing whatever they want. in this case the boss sounds like a total cunt and I wouldn't be surprised if she were somebody who was constantly used to getting her own way like most of these people which is why she has clearly gotten up to some shady shit.

Like with all of this stuff, you have to consider whether it's worth it yourself, no one can really make you, who knows? It might actually turn out to be the best thing you ever did if you put a stop to her and you'll make peoples' lives better for it or even, best case scenario you might be asked to come back because you got her booted out of that museum.

Again, it all depends on whether you think it's worth the bother, I personally would have no issues taking down a genuine scumbag like that especially if they were making absolutely everyone else around them miserable as well. Unfortunately, one thing I've learned from experience is that almost ruthlessly detaching the sociopaths from your life and other peoples' is one of the most healthy ways to live it because of how they just drain the energy from other people like social vampires and that is especially the case when it comes to the workplace.

It sounds as though it's the mother/board member you should have a problem with for over protecting her princess and abusing her position of authority. For all you know the girl could have been attracted to you and the mother disapproved and split you up.

It sounds as though your boss was placed in a very difficult situation because of this woman. In cases of dismissal, contact with the former employee is pretty much off limits because of potential litigation. I understand the feeling of betrayal, but I think you need to think about the impossible situation your former boss was in.

If you knew her well, she'd have known that you didn't depend on the money from that job as well. My guess is that the betrayal might not be as serious as you might think and that the steam rolling and the no contact/returning gifts etc direction came from above.

I'd just move on, realising that your old boss wasn't the bad guy in this situation, it was the influence of the mother on the board.

Also, the fact that you wrote a post about revenge could be used against you in the future if you ever decided to "ruin her" as other posts suggest.

Be smart, take the lesson to protect yourself at your place of employment and move on.

Actually, this really sounds like workplace discrimination. Your side wasn't even discussed. You weren't even given a chance to state what happened.

I would look into filing a case with the EEOC.

Why exactly? Seems to me you don't have enough information about the situation. You are seeing it only from one side, and there may be another; there usually is. She betrayed your trust in her, but maybe your trust was not founded on a realistic basis. She treated you well to start with. This means she probably did the same with her other employees; give some thought as to the implications of that: when she is faced with a conflict between two of them, what does she do? Also, it appears from your other post that the mother was part of the governing board. There would be political implications to that, of which you would be unaware.

She appears not to have blackened your name, which in the current climate would be so easy to do. Let it go.

What's the use? What will getting anonymous revenge on her do?

Maybe get you into a whole lot of trouble you're not in now. You won't be as "anonymous" as you think.
