According to feminists, the patriarchy is the cause of all evil in the world. It is the cause of all sin and everything dirty, the cause of hierarchy, war, rape and manspreading. It even caused beloved feminist sister Emma Watson to show off her boobs in a recent magazine spread.

There is literally nothing the patriarchy can't or won't do to keep women down. It will even go so far as to disadvantage men and boys in virtually every sphere. Insane, you say? No. The patriarchy, like the lord and the devil, works in mysterious ways.

The only way to defeat the patriarchy is to accept salvation through feminism and repent of masculinity. Amen.

Strangely, feminists don't seem concerned about welcoming the most patriarchal culture in the world -- fundamentalist Islam -- into their countries. They even talk admiringly, wistfully even, about Sharia Law.

This got me to thinking: shouldn't they be scared shitless about these patriarchs in their midst? I have nothing against Muslims and don't go around complaining about them all day. In many ways they've gotten a raw deal by being disproportionately located in an area of great geostrategic value. Hence the constant wars. But there's no denying that fundamentalist Muslims are highly patriarchal.

And so I puzzle further: if feminists are so scared of the patriarchy -- why do they openly mock it, attack it, and spit in its face? Over a century ago, Elizabeth Cady Stanton held a public meeting in which she blamed the patriarchy for everything wrong in the world. One has to admire her immense courage, since surely the patriarchy didn't appreciate such calumny and struck back with immense fury. Oh wait...

I don't know about you, but if I'm deathly afraid of something I try not to antagonize it. For example if I saw a Grizzly bear or a tiger I wouldn't try to poke it with a stick. Yet the patriarchy puts up only token resistance to feminists. More men were killed in single labor strikes in the US than the entire history of feminism. (Perhaps "benevolent sexism" was not some minor side effect of patriarchy but the entire point? Keeping women safe?)

So in conclusion: feminists claim that they need to be protected from the patriarchy. Men need to come to their aid (HeforShe) and eradicate this deadly foe because women are threatened by it. Yet the feminist priesthood is happy to welcome patriarchs from distant patriarchal lands into their own. One would think that the devil incarnate would engender more fear, but again, they seem entirely unafraid.

Here's my theory: women aren't actually afraid of the patriarchy. Therefore men have no need to fight it on their behalf. Women understand, even if subconsciously ("women's intuition") that they will be protected and provided for regardless. They will retain more status than the average man due to the value of their wombs, even if they have to lose a few token rights like the right to become a wage slave or the right to vote for some lousy politician.
