I grew up with this girl. We are family. I share her blood. It doesn't matter.

It's (obviously) not sexual, yet the behavior from her is the same as what men go through in relationships. In fact, she is one of the most extreme examples of hamster I have ever witnessed. As her older brother I have subconsciously kept her in check over the years relative to what she does to her actual boyfriends, though it still hurts. *On a side tangent, she is so terrible to her current gamma boyfriend that I would not blame him for murdering her, but of course he loves her and would never do that.

We live several hours apart and I rarely get to see her, but when I do she usually ruins it (she is 25) with childish hamstering. Her new thing is to "punish" me for some imaginary infraction by canceling on plans (which were usually made by her her last minute) by getting into her car and leaving me behind. It's unbelievable.

I don't call her when she acts out like this. I don't give her any attention. I try to shrug it off and do something else, but it still hurts. It bothers me. I can't have a sibling relationship with her because it is no different functionally from being in a shitty romantic relationship.

After I leave town she inevitably gives me a call a few days later to apologize, but by then it's too late. It still gets to me.

Tonight she pulled this move with me and then later texted me with "you can't even treat your sister with respect and you expect to meet a girl. Ya Right."

I sent back "meet a girl? hahahah yeah that sounds wonderful."

She has been told by me (and my brother) point blank multiple times "WE ARE NOT YOUR FUCKING BOYFRIEND. We are not putting up with your shit.

Once she is put back into place the hamster behavior improves, but after a while it kicks into high gear again.

She has the mindset that we are lucky to be in her presence. I don't enjoy it. She doesn't get it.

It sucks. It's extremely depressing. Even a woman who shares my blood behaves in a disgusting way that makes no sense. You can't choose your family. It breaks my heart.
