I want to believe that it's just a phrase they're using to let me down easy, and not because they think I'm a total pussy. It's always in the context of a text a few days later "Listen, you're a really nice guy and I had a really nice time, but...[I will never have sex with you]"

The fact that they showed up to the date, to me, says that they were at least interested. The only thing I can think of is to start acting like a total dickhead.
