I would add that men should do it INSTEAD of having a family. We already have too many people on the earth anyways..

I should offer to put my body on the line for the family’s greater good.

Except that, for men younger and more anglo than me at least, there's a very definite chance that my current family will not be my only, or last, family. Said risk being in a huge part out of my hands, as women are the primary initiators of divorce.

Thus a basic unwillingness to cut off my chances to start anew.

Women use reversible birth control. Where is the male equivalent?

Then again, my opinion remains that, when healthcare structure make vasectomy as widely available as abortion, they'll be flooded with young, childless men.

While I disagree with his reasoning, I can't find fault with the result.

Getting a vasectomy ( and verifying ) ensures you won't get saddled with kids you hadn't intended on having. This isn't rocket science.
