The 25-year-old convinced her friend she was a man by putting on a deep voice and using a blindfold across a dozen sexual encounters during a two-year relationship.

I remember when this was originally in the news. I can't believe she actually got convicted. The "victim" clearly consented to the sexual acts and (at least in the US) that is all that matters. If the sex was consensual, no laws were broken.

This just feels wrong. Did the "victim" never touch the "penis"? Did she never put her hands on her partner's hips, chest, or skin and think, "Hmm, something not right here?"

You have to wonder if she just didn't want to admit she was gay.

Nah no way someone get get tricked like this. How could you not be suspicious when asked to wear a blindfold. I don't believe this story. The victim lied.

Reading the title, I thought she just tricker her to get nude and eventually, get caught without sex. But no, she actually tricked her for 2 years, blindfolding her. That's all the closest you can get to rape, trick someone to consent. The 8 years to jail seems fair.

just when i think the law in Britain can't possibly get any dumber.. how does shit like this even wind up in court? "My partner lied to me your honor. that's literally rape."
