Hey there.

I just needed to rant. This has been bothering me for awhile now.

So, a few months ago, my parents were fighting. My mom has always been violent with my dad (and also myself), but this was really appalling.

One night, I hear some loud yelling and stomping noises around the house (as usual) and then see my sister and my dad leave later that night. I then find out later from my sister that she was taking him to the hospital, because my mom bent his thumb backwards. He had bandages for 2-3 weeks.

Although my dad has been cowardly and let some fucked up shit happen to me because of it, I can't help feeling sorry for him. I used to ask why he wouldn't leave my mom or hadn't left when we were younger, and he said it was because, even though we ALL have been abused by her, he wasn't sure he would get full or even partial custody.

I live in DC with two liberal parents. At school, everyone is a feminist and dedicated to helping all female victims of domestic violence. Anybody who tries to include men's issues into the discussion is ridiculed.

When my male friend brings male domestic violence up, he is told he can't speak to the issue because he isn't a woman. When I brought it up, the first question I was asked was "but have you ever been raped?"

Actually, you self-righterous pricks, I have been the victim of sexual abuse and physical abuse. No, it wasn't all from a man. They have no idea what I've been through.

Feminism has made my life hell.
