Sure, it's not his fault that he was robbed. The blame lies squarely on the robber in this circumstance. However, he has the responsibility to not invite potential robbers to his place when he does not have the capacity to protect himself. Being careless has consequences. Not to say that he deserved to be robbed, but he definitely could have been more careful.

I think the big thing about all this is that feminists tend to confuse to the idea that you shouldn't have to do something, vs. the idea that you shouldn't do something. Take this example: You shouldn't have to lock your doors and take precautions regarding your own surroundings. In a perfect world we wouldn't have to worry about that. However, you still should lock your doors, and take precautions because this isn't a perfect world if you don't bad things will happen. Similarly, a girl (or anyone really) shouldn't have to take precautions to avoid get raped; nonetheless they still should take the precautions, because otherwise bad things will happen.

That's why girls are taught to take precautions. It's not victim-blaming. It's being responsible, because the world is a messed up place, and everyone should learn to deal with it...even if they shouldn't have to.

What we argue about most of the time is intoxicated yes's... How intoxicated is too intoxicated, and how an intoxicated man is supposed to tell it apart from one that isn't too far gone, and so on.
