My girlfriend is a feminist. She's not mind-blowing crazy or anything and she's cool with the odd debate but where do people get their numbers?

Trying to go through Statistics Canada doesn't seem to pull up anything regarding specifics (ie false allegations of sexual assault) how do people sift through that? Are there any good infographs that don't misrepresent data? We've both had a bit of a collective "Your the first X that wasn't Y" moment.

When I told her that Ontario is better because I can walk around
and not have man-hating posters posted everywhere on main drags she nodded. Then I said that false accusations are getting out of hand and she was like "They aren't nearly as high as you think they are" - I vaguely remembered 8% from somewhere, she retorted with 2%

TLDR Where do people get their stats? How? Any good infographics? Maybe make this a sticky topic of Infographs?
