You're right for the sexual attraction bit (or as Rollo puts it, arousal vs attraction). But money also has 2 other implications: status and lifestyle. Money is what determines the social hierarchy in the US (and most other western countries), so it can help your social proof. The second implication is lifestyle. Having money lets you live the party life since that's expensive.

One thing I should point out, if you have a ton of money, but live a boring life, hoard it in a bank account, your job is lame but pays well, and you look like the guy who clips coupons to get where he is, you'll be placed in the BB category hard. Aim to look and live a life like the guys from Mad Men.

There's a soft floor for cash. It is directly correlated with:

economic stability
influence
supposed work ethic

However it is also a soft floor. This means even if you don't have the minimum amount, you can still slay. It'll help you to get to the minimum amount, whatever that may be, but it won't necessarily put you out of the game not reaching that minimum.

Tldr. If you're already slaying, getting more cash won't really change much. If you're not, it's sure to help a little. After all, I'd rather cry in a vanquish than on a bicycle.

money isn't directly part of SMV, but it can make it easier to live an adventurous, alpha male high SMV lifestyle (buying fast cars, trips to exotic places, partying, etc). but women will gladly fuck a broke surfer bum Chad or even homeless guys living on the street if they're hot enough and have the right attitude.

Wow, lots of bad answers so far. As you point out, just having a lot of money doesnt make girls wet. That's an oversimplification. As money represents status and essentially acts as scoring system in most of the world, it's the factors associated with being wealthy that make a man attractive to women.

First, money is just a sign of success. In the west, being rich is often seen as a sign of being successful, and therefore represents other characteristics like being hard working and smart. Women have a basic biological attraction to "successful" men. biologically, women are driven to mate and pair with men who they believe will be able to provide for them and their children. Add to that western culture of wanting easy luxurious lives, and women will immediately see "rich" guys as being more attractive because they want to pair with a guy who can provide them with a high quality life. A girl wants to be with a guy who can take them out for dinners and buy them nice gifts, and a nice house, nice car etc. These things dont make a girl wet per se, but they build attraction to a guy.

Second you have what I would call the ancillary effects of having wealth, which is that being rich allows you to live an interesting lifestyle. Money is freedom and it allows you to do things like travel, have expensive hobbies like skiing, it lets you buy/rent a nice apartment in a nice part of town, etc. Women find interesting men more attractive and they want to become a part of your interesting and high quality life.

Just think of tv characters women love. I remember in university, women loved Harvey Spector and Mike Ross from the tv show suits. These guys are great examples of how being 'rich' makes a man attractive. It's not so much about 'having money' but in the eyes of girls, these guys are hard working, smart, driven, wear nice suits, theyre clean cut with nice haircuts, they work downtown and have nice apartments, they drive nice cars, wear nice watches, go to nice bars, etc. This is what women are attracted to.

As another commenter said, having wealth doesnt necessarily make you attractive. For example if youre an obese computer coder making $250,000 a year working from home and just hoarding your money in the bank, thats great, that guy's going to be well off financially, but thats not attractive to women.

If a man has money, he has the motivation, discipline and successful characteristics that a woman will find attractive. She will biologically want to obtain his genetics; as it will increase the chance that her offspring will have these characteristics.
