All the commenters seem to think that this joke makes for a 'hostile environment' towards women, yet it's obviously aimed at men. So, i. They aren't very bright, and, ii. They have proved that the boss's patronising attitude towards women has more than a grain of truth in it. Why can't the complainer respond in kind, firing back some patronising sarcastic humour at the boss? If she did, I bet it would do wonders for her reputation at the firm.

Usually r/feminism is more careful, being very liberal with the bans and censorships before it gets to this level. But the unopposed response to this joke from everyone is sue them. Sure, that will really help the stereotype that women are to fragile and easily offended for work place environments (especially male dominated fields)
