he is a casualty of "believe the victim" policies that are pervasive in Canada's police and courts.......it's disgusting.

A peace bond, in this case is a way for the Crown to save face, drop the charges.....because they have no evidence, or the witness's are for shite, or Gomeshi's team has found one or more of them to be lying and has shown the Crown their evidence.

BUT

Trust me Gomeshi is only signing this peace bond to save himself an ungodly amount of legal fees.

it's the lesser of two shitty evils.

He's essentially being extorted by the Crown, via his own expensive legal costs to defend himself.

It's beyond disgusting.

The Crown attorneys don't even bother investigating or verifying accusers claims anymore, they just listen, then charge. They assume all accusations are true.

funny thing about that....they ain't.

The truly disturbing thing is how many "non-famous" men have been convicted or had their lives destroyed because there isn't an intense public focus on the case, (which forces judges to act properly and do their jobs as their supposed to)...or who can't afford a $2,000 an hour attorney like Marie Henein?

The number is probably staggering.

This is a setup. Mark my words.

I had an employee recently who was under a peace bond from a former girlfriend. She followed him to the place where he shops, called the police and he was arrested, put in jail for 2 days, when it got to the hearing , the judge realized that my employee was at the store first and let him go. BUT , he was arrested, was put in jail so their setup worked.

So the prosecution don't believe they have a case that will stand up in court. One wonder's why?

Maybe they have found that Yet another witness has been colluding at that local night school class, "Embroidery 101 - A Guide to Stitching Up"?
