So one of my best friends ( trust me ,its not me, I not great with women but i'm not this foolish) just got out of a long term relationship of two years. The break up itself was pretty healthy and he just thought it was time to split. He spends two months just working on himself and focusing on finishing the last bit of school.

Any way, he mets this girl from a bio class. They hit it off and become really good friends. Summer comes by and they start talking alot more. They snapchat each other almost everyday, multiple times a day and they text alot.

This girl lives pretty close by me so my friend decides to come down and visit and then meet up with her the next morning for coffee by the beach. Id didnt really know about her till then and he keeps going on about how cool she is and how easy she is to talk to.

Were hanging out during the night and he'd be on his phone texting this girl. This were some really long texts from what I saw and the conversations were usually like this. I could tell he really liked her and he had date the next day with her. Im happy for him.

He goes on the date and I see him later that day. He says the date went really well and that he wants to try seeing her a lot more. Im thinking he found a really great girl and that this is a done deal.

I see him two weeks later and ask how its been going with her. He tells me that shes had a bf this entire time. Im super shocked and pretty fucking pissed that he got played like that. He said that she showed a bunch flirty signs and that he really thought she was super into him and that he made it apparent that he was into her. He confronted her about the bf and she put up some bs speech saying I didn't realize I was coming off like that and she basically didn't know better.

I told my friend that he just ghost this girl and focus on himself or some other girls but he wont budge. He keeps speaking with her and I can tell he wants to be way more than friends.

Am I missing something here? She's a cool girls but she kept her bf on the down low for so long, even after all the talking and the date.

Any thoughts on the situation?

TL;DR: Friends been talking to girl for sometime. She had a bf the entire time, never told him until recently but he still talks to her all the time.
