Many people here automatically assume all of the 'not a men's rights issue' comments are trolls, and that it is a waste of time to respond to them, however since my time is not valuable and I do not so assume I'll be happy to type out a few thoughts here just in case you can be persuaded to see that this is very much a men's rights issue.

The thrust of my argument will be that unlike on the other side, where they have an established mesh of ideas / movements (women's rights / feminism / women's health / patriarchy / intersectionality / etc) here we tend to operate under the umbrella term 'men's rights' which functions as both an ideal and in many cases a movement.

Many if not most, indeed perhaps all of the issues under that umbrella have at their root a systemic belief that man bad / woman good - man strong / woman weak - man takes / woman gives - man kills / woman brings forth life.

It surely MUST be the case that anyone who hashtagbelieves all women must endure a small cognitive dissonance on each occasion of their being confronted by the evidence, as seen in the op, that individual women, being human, can and do lie for personal gain and all other manner of reason.

indeed women have been known to lie for no reason at all. Just for fun. Just, of course, as men have.

The op is a piece from a mainstream news outlet, it describes a case that clearly shows in at least this one case a woman - not a male pervert - stole a child. A woman lied about being pregnant, and about having a baby. A woman attempted to use a child to trick a man into continuing a relationship with her.

Being news from a news site and reported in a very factual manner and without any sort of hyperbolic or inflammatory rhetoric, perhaps it will be forwarded or linked to a person who will read IT where they would not read say, avfm or cotwa, and perhaps it may be one more straw that will eventually break or at least weaken the camel's back of that readers tolerance for cognitive dissonance.

Therefor please accept op as an item of interest to the readers of this subreddit.
