My husband got interested in this case and looked into it a bit. Apparently, Charlie Sheen wanted, and was willing to pay for, a very specific arrangement where both his baby mamas lived in his neighborhood and he could see his kids every day while maintaining an extreme bachelor lifestyle in his own residence. He agreed to very high child support payments and purchased homes for his two families to live in.

This worked out surprisingly well for a surprisingly long time, but mental illness has fucked it up. Brooke Mueller went off the rails and Denise Richards ended up taking her kids in until she stabilized (because strangely, the judge was not OK with them going to live at Charlie's house). Then Charlie had his own spectacular breakdown (the "tiger blood phase) and told his 8 year old that he was going to kill her and her mother, among other horrible things (most of its is in writing and Charlie admits to sending the texts). It's all really sordid and sad.

I would argue that if someone needs $600,000 a year to raise two children, they're not a fit parent.

Why would she need $55,000 per month, that waaaaayyyy more then a person needs to raise two boys. I know many people who don't make that much in a year. Cut it in half and Brooke will still have an over adundance of money, far more then she needs to raise their Sons.

As for Denise Richards she won a great deal of respect from me after she refused to do 2 and a half men when it fired Charlie and taking in those two boys when Brooke had a mental break down had caused my respect for Denise to shoot through the roof.

Plus I loved her in Wild Things and Starship Troopers.

I assume he sold the rights to pay off some of his debts. If so, it would be a very valid reason to request a lowering of the child support (how the hell does she need $55k a month to raise two children?)
