I agree that the article is sad. It's not even the rapid escalation that's bothering me, but the entire framework that I'm opposed to. It should be obvious to anyone that the specific thing (not putting the glass in the dishwasher) is meant to be a symbol for any little thing a man might do that annoys his wife. The message? As a man it's always you who has to compromise Anything your wife finds annoying? Stop doing it. Any difference of opinion? Assimilate yourself and most important of all! If you don't you are deeply wounding your wife. You are making her afraid.
