I love that when the only evidence of a crime is the word of the "victim" that it is then, in the minds of these cultists, not relevant when it is proven that their word is not something to be trusted.

We must trust them when they talk about sexual assault and it doesn't matter that they lied on everything else, they definitely didn't lie about this and you are a woman-hater for suggesting they would!

That being said, the style this article is written in, while fanciful, makes it difficult at times to understand what is being said. It should be reserved for an opinion piece or other sort of work, not on an article reporting the facts.

Its mostly a summary of the closing argument with some color commentary thrown in between. I agree, however, that it times it is difficult to distinguish the two.,

It's scary how the SJW's don't want to hear the truth.

Marie Henein is one level headed-fair feminist for the right price.

Mr Ghomeshi did the right move hiring a feminist to defend him.

If he had a male lawyer...?

[–]WillWorkForLTC 14 points15 points16 points 10 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

This quote really speaks to the culture of these typical narratives:

Henein didn’t take her eye of the soft underbelly of their narratives, each replete with towering inconsistencies, reversals, hastily retrieved memories, amended police statements, pungent fabrications, reluctant disclosures and grudging admissions adduced under cross.

Yet none of that should matter a whit, apparently, when the charge is sexual assault, because the mere accusation is de facto truth, how dare anybody dispute it. To test that perceived truth — put it on the stand, examine it, challenge it — is tantamount to horrendous re-victimization of the supplicant.

Edit: Just wanted to add that at least for me, this rivals the John Scott Players Tribune article as one of the most well written editorials of 2016.

[–]actingverystrangely 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I thought it was very well written by someone who loves language and is not afraid of the truth.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

“There is not an expert in the world that would come and testify that perjury is indicative of trauma,” Henein observed. “What the witness cannot do is . . . lie and conceal their conduct and then, when caught out, say, ‘oh gee, that’s just how victims of abuse behave.’ ”

[–]scanspeak 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And what will be the punishment for these women who have been proven to have lied under oath, who have harassed and bullied Ghomeshi? Who have severely harmed his career? Absolutely nothing. Guaranteed.

[–]scanspeak 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd love to see a movie or at least documentary on this story.

What about anyone else who has been the victim of any other horrible crime? If I was the victim of a home invasion and got beat up and almost killed, you better believe I sure as HELL would be as cooperative with the police as possible! Not make conflicting statements, have a flippant attitude of "I don't know," said angrily like the investigator was bothering me the way women do when questioned about being raped.

Believe it or not people LIE. And for all kinds of reasons! How about that! People lie about other people because they are angry at them or jealous of them or vindictive or feel the accused has 'wronged' them somehow. Welcome to PLANET EARTH and to THE HUMAN RACE. It's what people do: LIE. And they lie A LOT. And pretending people don't lie isn't going to make them stop lying. And no, women NOR any crime deserve 'special' treatment and special laws and special rules.

You want faster justice without all of the burden of having to go to trial with the accused protected? Then move to FUCKING AFRICA, you morons. If you accidentally run someone over there and kill them, you are instantly mobbed by everyone close by, a tire thrown over your head and lit on fire. That's what North American women deserve and want and about their speed, they're so fucking stupid, a 3rd world shithole method of 'justice.'

But these aren't people, they're victims! Surely victims don't lie! /s

You'd even tell them where you keep your drugs and let them comb through your tax returns?

Incidents of necklacing tend to be localised and which a few exceptions tend to take place during civil wars or civil war type conditions.

The exact result of running someone over in Africa varies by country from a few years in prison though nothing to being allowed to star in an ISIS video.

[–]Flaktrack 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Between this trial and the Elliot one... I think the SJWs have lost control of the narrative in Canada. I think it's finally happening.

[–]AboveTail 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

One of the best things about this age of mass communication, and something that is causing the SJW's no end of grief is that they can't keep the truth from coming out. That's why they are trying to shut down comment sections and censor social media: they can't stand the fact that they don't have complete control of the flow of information

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Call me back when they suffer any consequences from losing such trials.

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This trial is so exciting for me and I assume for other men who've been falsely accused on a smaller scale.

[–]franklindeer[S] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is far from a clear cut false accusation, but the trial was clean and above board and the reaction to the defense and the rules of the court are absurd and dangerous.

[–]OttawaPhil 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I wonder how many more women hit on him for some choking and rough sex after this? Probably lots more, lot's of them love that stuff.

Going to have to wear a dash cam while he has sex for proof now though, in case undercover feminists try to add entrapment to the purgery, libel and slander...

[–]omegaphallic 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I thought James Deen was done after Stoya and the others made their accusations, but between bloggers and people on twitter doing the research the MSM should have done, but didn't, showing the accusations were bullshit, and the support of a whole bunch of female pornstars, James Deen has bounced back and is scheduled to shoot for kink agian.

My point is this, yes I think its possible for Ghomeshi to bounce back from this because he has a fan base and the dirty laundry and the lies of his enemies have been exposed.

Other less fameous men are not so lucky.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He bounced back from Moxy Fruvous so it's entirely possible.

Like "50 shades of grey" book and movie being mostly bought and seen by young women, then they claim rape culture by men when they are the ones who are consuming it.

[–]OttawaPhil 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I was amused by them taking rape culture to the mainstream with that book for sure.

[–]Electroverted 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I swear the author of this article writes like they're British.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's just well written Canadian English.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Great writer, but she's a biased female. She actually "believes" the accusers even after all nondisclosures, excuses, lies, deceit and outright criminal perjury they've committed. If you click her name on the web page, it takes you to a list of her articles, and she has an article on her believing the accusers.
