I knew it would happen this way.

The idea of alimony reform only found purchase after some women started out-earning their husbands. Before that point, screwing the ex-husband was considered perfectly fair game and nothing needed to be changed. When women started getting hit by the same bullets, it was suddenly unfair.

If and when women start being required to sign-up for Selective Service and penalized for failing to do so, people will start calling SS barbaric and start demanding that the whole thing needs to be done-away with. Because it's not fair to women.

'Work-life balance' wasn't a thing until after women entered the workforce in large numbers. No one gave a shit about men living balanced lives or whether men were feeling adequately happy and satisfied in the workforce. It simply wasn't an issue for anyone. When a woman enters: oh, is she happy and satisfied? Does she enjoy a decent work-life balance? Is she being catered-to adequately? Are her aspirations being catered-to? These became important questions all of a sudden. To not ask these things is not fair to women.

That's how it works. When women start getting 10% of the crap that men have to deal with, only then do things become unfair. When it's only men getting the short end of the stick? Well, just keep a stiff upper-lip as you manfully chow-down on that shit sandwich. Suck it up, buttercup. Tough luck, you know?

With this mid-level court precedent in Virginia, lower state courts will be forced to admit their sexism openly in future rulings involving different-sex couples. This is a good thing.
