If this is a step towards rebalancing the scales, then hip hip hooray. For far too long men have been subjected to false rape claims and only for them to be dismissed or withdrawn and the claimant receiving nothing more than a don't do it again.

Too many times the spokespeople for rape victims come out and say that, sure, it's not very helpful when this type of thing happens, but they shouldn't be punished because it will discourage real rape victims from coming out because they feel like they won't be believed and maybe will be punished for it.

How about throwing the book at these false rape accusers until they get the message that it won't be tolerated and we can get to the business of dealing with real rape victims without having to wonder if they are lying or not and just help them.

But I fear this will not happen.

Ms Yinusa, from Tilbury in Essex, wept in the dock as judge Peter Rook QC told her she must be jailed for wasting more than 100 hours of police time.

I wonder if she'd be weeping if it was the person she accused was getting sentenced. Seems she's most likely upset about being caught lying.

8 months is not enough and it was for "Perverting the course of Justice", there should be a charge for filling a false rape claim and she should be facing the same custody sentence as the crime she accused the person of committing.

Nah, just kidding. The real crime really is the false rape allegation and my justice boner goes full mast whenever some lying trollop gets caught and called out for this bullshit. Fuck this woman for crying wolf and almost ruining the lives of 2 innocent people, as well as diluting the perceived severity/veracity of cases of actual rape. I'll bet that she doesn't regret her actions because of the effect she had on their lives, but simply that she got caught. Ugh, what an egregious piece of shit, 8 months is a shockingly light sentence.

How are these sentences so light?! Women will never learn if they get away with less than a year for almost ruining a life or lives in some cases
