There's a similar situation going on with a friend of my mom's. Her son was homeschooled all his life but decided to take a crack at public high school.

2 weeks in, a girl was making torture threats and harassing him. There was a run-in on the school bus where she began to shove him repeatedly, so he pushed her back once. She was stunned. The next day he was suspended from school and a complaint was filed against him which threatened legal action.

Unfortunately for the school district, not only did they not file paperwork properly, but there's also evidence that cops involved in the matter are purposefully withholding evidence for his case. There's clearly some corruption involved and it's all quite well proven with the evidence at hand. Our lawyer is also assisting the boy and his mom against the school district.

It's turning into a courtroom situation, and now the school district is trying to negotiate to make sure it "never happened." Assault and harassment charges will soon be filed against the girl who made the threats and physical conflicts.

This is looking more and more like a /r/pussypassdenied situation, and I couldn't be happier.

What, was she afraid that him taking her picture was going to steal her soul? You're on a train. There is no illusion of privacy on a train. Was him taking pictures of people a little creepy? Sure. But not illegal.

I think this is a bit of a distortion to call grabbing his phone from his hands "assault". I'm sure it could technically be assault, but there's no need to dilute the word to make a clickbait point about "pussy passes". 5 people came to her rescue, because he attacked her. Sure, you could call it "self defence" if taking someone's phone is technically assault, but it's a stretch.

The dude sounds like a schizophrenic to me. He probably thought the first girl was following/watching him and he was taking a picture of her to keep a record of it. And he probably thought the same of the OP.
