While women that do this, most definitely should be jailed, in this case the the title is deceptive.

She never even had a baby, it was a friends baby that she passed off as her own; she was jailed for forging a birth certificate, which is a crime. Lying to a man, making him think a child is his, doing incredible harm and pain when he finds out it is not his kid, all in order to extort time and money from him; however is not a crime, and women are rewarded for this behavior by family courts daily.

This happened to my cousin. His daughter was the life of our family get togethers and everybody adored her. Shortly after turning 1 the father tried to file for custody and the girl informed him that will never work because surprise you're not the father. DNA tests ended up proving she was right. The "grandma" was so attached that she still spends time with the granddaughter that's not hers.

No paternity fraud charge(because that isn't a thing). Charged for forging documents. If she hadn't done that and convinced him another way, she would have been free.
