Put men who are journalists in women's locker rooms and fine women tennis players for flirtatious banter with reporters that are men and it would still be represented as disrespectful towards women too.

I'll accept all this the day that potential sports reporters are given job interviews behind screens so that their looks have no influence. Plus, they will need to demonstrate a REAL interest and knowledge of the sports they will be reporting on. Plus there will need to be some voice distortion so their age is disguised.

Again this shows how feminism mirrors traditional conservative values very closely. The idea here is the women are too lady-like and pure to be placed in such an uncouth and boisterous environment. Ordinary speech for the brutish men will have the effect of damaging the female's delicate sensibilities. Oh my, where is the nearest fainting couch?

What's in common: women are so pure and delicate that they can be hurt merely by the normal speech of uncouth men.

What's different: traditional conservatives solved the problem by banning women from these jobs, whereas feminism insists the woman be inserted into the environment.

But the feminist solution is not really possible. If sports figures know that they can get fined just for talking to a woman reporter, they won't want to talk to them. if they know they have to be extremely careful of what they say, then they will not act naturally in front of female reporters which means only male reporters can REALLY get the inside scoop. The more you try to force the athletes to talk to women, the more closed up and careful they will be. This story hurts female journalists who genuinely want to do a good job. It's an inevitable result of insisting that women be treated like princesses, and that is what feminism and traditional conservatism have in common.
