Boko Haram butchers schoolboys en masse for 8 months in Nigeria, no outrage. Media claims in May the same group abducted 200+ schoolgirls. Cataclysmic outrage. US pledges diplomatic & military intervention, Change.org hosts petition signed by hundreds of thousands, and SJWs set Twitter on fire.

Join me in sending a calm, civil letter to Ryerson U administrators. They have fined CAFE a $1600 "security fee" for presenting men's human rights speaker Karen Straughan (aka GirlWritesWhat) on campus. I suggest they either abandon the fee or consider an additional approach. CONTACT INFO INSIDE.

Female teacher found guilty of six felony counts of statutory rape. She gets four months jail and doesn’t register as sex offender. Her reaction? Surprised she was punished at all.

Was about to make a purchase tonight until I saw the bracelet of the lady behind the counter. Cancelled my purchase and spoke to the owner over the phone, who was unaware of it and not onsite. She was reasonable, and it appears some more professional attire will be in order at their company.

Fallout: losing face after its dishonest criticism of AVFMS, the SPLC resorts to mass censorship, deleting over 100 comments by men's advocates. The hateful, childish, and trolling comments of their supporters were not deleted.

New due process lawsuit vs Boston College. "The male student was also charged in Suffolk County District Court. Those charges were dismissed in May 2014 after physical evidence and video footage exonerated him, according to the suit."

"...has graduated Summa Cum Laude"

Even more remarkable, he got through Uni without once being accused of rape!

Congratulations and well-done, young man.

I don't understand what this has to do with men's rights.

A prominent MRA graduating despite months of relentless gender-based hostility (including false accusations filed with local police) from faculty and students on his own campus.

I think that's more than just "having something to do" with men's rights. I think that's a men's rights success story.

including false accusations filed with local police

Like what?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The false accusation was that Sage had threatened someone in an email. The police investigated and found no threatening messages.

Charming.

I can understand that it looks good, but its not really a men's right success. They succeeded in spite of all the anti-male stuff, they didn't tear down anti-male stuff.

Changing the conversation and showing people that you will stand up to them is a success. So too is leaving behind a legacy of founding men's groups in higher ed. Sage's example of that is really the best we have to date.

There are many different kinds of success, and when you're an activist instead of a spectator you learn to appreciate the full spectrum of successes. If you are basically expecting a Michael Bay movie every time full of eye-candy explosions, you're going to be disappointed and incapable of seeing 90% of the successes that occur.
