Thank you! more people need to say these things, particularly in mainstream media. Add Edwina Currie to the list of people with their head screwed on

I love this, it's so true! Women earn less than men and chose different career paths so that they can raise their children, and feminists want to blame every man ever for this as if its oppression. Civilizations have been built on the backs of women, and men, who work together and intelligently divide labor according to skill and comfort level. Most women want to be women, even incredibly intelligent and successful ones, and true women understand our gender doesn't have to hold us back from success. If we really are equal to men, we can compete at their game. I don't need any advantages!

It is true. My friend with the best paying job I know works 60+ hours a week as an engineer and travels. Most of my female friends don't earn half as much, but they work 20-30 hours a week in social fields, and are married to guys who work much longer hours.

It is very bizarre that women sign up for social science classes or feminists studies courses then complain about women not making as much. Well, major in engineering if you want to make as much as a guy who majored in engineering, and put the hours in. If my engineering friend had majored in women's studies and only worked 30 hours a week, he'd be making less money, too.

On a somewhat different topic, I have a guy friend from back in the day who is really having trouble getting his shit together. He is not doing anything at all professionally, and hasn't been for years. I would love if he found work in a job that he enjoys, even if it pays poorly. At least it would be a start. When I compare his situation to feminists complaining about the wage gap, I think it pretty obvious that women chose fields they enjoy that happen not to pay as well, and marry guys who works longer hours in fields that pay better. If you consider overall life satisfaction rather than just a paystub, these women have made a pretty rational choice.

That was a great piece, thanks for posting it. Her story about how she had to keep trying to become an MP was a powerful illustration of how you have to keep trying to improve.

This is probably the primary reason after pregnancy that there is a pay gap. True story.
