Since it's Labor Day: In 2013, 4,585 workers died in the workplace, 93% of them were men. An additional 50,000 workers died from work-related illness, and several million were injured on the job.

Once again a black man is killed by police without cause, and once again the police are caught in a lie. Reminder that about 96% of people killed by police are male.

I am just shocked that "Huffington Post" doesn't celebrate male deaths overtly, as anti-man as that dubious web site is. Presumably it's creepy feminist writers are quietly cheered along by news like this.

With that comment made, I'd like to thank you for pointing out that its men that the cops shoot to death, on an ongoing basis. Not someone black, or red, or green, or brown, but men. #MaleLivesMatter

I read a good article in the New York Times last weekend - a person of color remarked that, in light of the outpouring of grief over the killing of Cecil the Lion, that perhaps she should start wearing a lion suit around in case the cops shoot her effectively on the grounds that she is black.

Perhaps if men started wearing lion suits around, when we are abused or mistreated or gunned down by cowboy cops, we would elicit more sympathy?

Quite honestly, I have not observed this feminist bias in the Huffington post. The feminist pieces (which I agree are highly distorted) are clearly marked as such in the 'feminist' or 'women's' section, and what I've observed so far of news that is not contained in those two mostly op-ed sections is that it is surprisingly objective. I've even seen pieces that were sympathetic to MHRM positions.

I'll keep looking for this horrible bias that everyone keeps talking about. Meanwhile, perhaps you can try to look at it through a new lense, and see if maybe you haven't been overly harsh.

Although the owner of the company is feminist, I haven't really seen what kind of feminist she is. If I had to guess only by what I've seen so far outside of the 'feminist' and 'women's' sections of HuffPo, I'd have to say she's probably not a horrible man-hater.

It just doesn't fit the politically correct narrative to care about male lives in the culturally Marxist worldview that society has been infected with by SJWs. They only care about historically "oppressed" groups like blacks and women. That's why one black woman committing suicide while in custody of the police would gain so much more media attention than 100 "privileged" white males getting shot by cops.

I do think police violence and brutality is a highly gendered issue, but society as a whole doesn't view it in that light because that would be politically incorrect. It's sad.

I find it funny that Marx would probably throw up at "cultural marxism"

Some officers are out of control and ruining public trust in the whole criminal system. I saw an article of a cop in Alabama not far from where I am that was shot to death 2 years ago. He was unarmed. The officer knew he was unarmed cause he was buck naked. At one point he even laid naked in the street and the officer didn't try to use non-lethal means.

This is not something that can be resolved as long as the cult of masculinity continues to revere stoicism, strength and violence. We're socialized to be powerful (i.e. look dangerous to some extent) and treat other men as dangerous so it's no surprise that men are more likely to be seen as a threath than women by police officers.

Most people killed by cops are white men, it just does against the media narrative to report it as a big deal.

Maybe because there's a lot more of them. Blacks are targeted and killed disproportionately, you can't refute this.

Proportionate to their numbers in the population, blacks are more than 4x as likely to be killed by police
