Earlier on Friday, Ethan's grandmother was sentenced to 10 days in prison for lying in court about the pair's disappearance.

She was an accessory, so that makes sense.

Louise Minnock, 52, was convicted of contempt of court for hiding the fact they were driven to Cheltenham by her partner Andrew Butt, who was jailed for the maximum 28 days for contempt.

So is it Minnock, Butt or both that is going to jail for 28 days?

As of the judgement just prior to the kidnapping, she was only granted supervised access to the kid. Surely after this stunt she'll be lucky to see him again? I really hope the father, the legal guardian, comes out with a statement over the next few days. She's unashamedly tried to use the press to manipulate her situation and it shouldn't be allowed to work.

I've been discussing this matter with various (female) family members who all agree that the judge and social services must be wrong and that she must have been genuinely scared for her child's safety to fabricate drug use stories about the father and run away. Even suggested that she may have done it to stop the father killing himself and the child to spite her because that happens all the time apparently. Madness.
