Third wave feminism claims to fight for equal rights; however, many are either pushing for or defending situations in which women are treated with less personal responsibility and individual agency than men. These examples are specific to to the Unites States.

  1. Responsibility for self control: If a small child hits you, as an adult, you don't retaliate because you are more mature and physically stronger. Apparently the same goes for a woman. Third wave feminism opposes the very notion that a woman can be physically or sexually abusive towards a man and stand in the way of providing resources for male victims of domestic violence. They paint the picture that there is a pandemic of violence against women, so if a man defends himself he is considered the aggressor. When a woman behaves violently she is not responsible for her actions in the same way that a man is, the same is true for rape including child molestation. note: I am biased in this regard because I have been attacked my women multiple times, including members of my own family and individuals armed with deadly weapons.

  2. The responsibility to negotiate on your own behalf: Many of you are familiar with various companies such as reddit abolishing salary negotions. They claim that the ability to negotiate creates a pay gap between men and women, under the notion that women are inferior negotiators.

  3. Responsibility for personal choices: When a man accidentally sires a child he has no choice in the matter and is responsible to provide financial support to the mother of his child. If he fails to do so he will be fined and imprisoned. If a woman accidentally conceives a child, she has the option to abort the pregnancy, and can abandon the child to the state or an adoption agency without any repercussions. note: I do not support punishing anyone for an unplanned pregnancy I am merely describing a double standard.

  4. The responsibility to defend yourself: A man is responsible to protect himself his family, and if there is a draft, his country. If a man is incapable of these things he is publicly shamed. A woman's safety is not her own responsibility. Third wave feminists claim that it is "victim blaming" to instruct a woman how to protect herself against violent crime. Women also do not have the responsibility to protect their country. (Note: Even if they don't meet the physical requirements, women are perfectly capable of working in non-combat roles. They could also complete tasks similar to that of conscientious objectors, eg in an equivalent of the Civilian Public service.)

  5. Financial Responsibility: The current system of alimony makes a man responsible for a woman's finances and their ability to have the lifestyle that they are "accustomed" to during the marriage.

  6. The responsibility to discuss opposing viewpoints: College Feminists construct safe spaces where women can avoid having their feelings hurt by hearing arguments that refute their opinions. Feminists trust that men are mature enough to acknowledge opposing viewpoints.

  7. The responsibility for self preservation: Although men are more likely to kill themselves feminists believe that it is our choice to do so; however, female suicides must be prevented because they are not mature enough to make that decision. Note: male suicide is a problem when it affects a woman.

  8. The responsibility for perjury: When a man perjures himself in court he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Prosecuting a woman for perjury would scare other women and prevent them from making true accusations, because they are too timid.

  9. The responsibility to prove an accusation: When a woman makes an accusation of a crime she must be believed, because requesting evidence would discourage her from coming forward. If a man makes an accusation against a woman he needs to have strong evidence.

  10. The responsibility for crimes committed: Women receive lighter sentences for the same crimes. A man is more cognisant of his actions and is held fully responsible for them.

TLDR: Third wave feminists either tolerate or support treating women like children, because they don't fight for the same responsibilities as men.
