The company participates in multiple movements to bring girls into programming and general IT. I feel that

  1. While girls are definitely the minority in IT, if you support and encourage children in general you would get much more people into the career. Many boys are discouraged from the job, because reasons. Just because a lot more decides they will do it, it doesn't mean there are a ton who would join in addition if you would show them the way.
  2. Supporting women for the sake of equal numbers is dumb for multiple reasons, the usual no female coal miners argument comes here, and also, if we check the über-equal Sweden, they still have less female programmers than male.

So are there any studies I could cite when calling out the company on being sexist? Or if I'm wrong, could you tell me why?
