The ignorance of the article's author and its rabid and gleeful scorn heaped on MRAs is utterly misplaced. Return of Kings no more conveys the salient positions of the Men's Rights Movement then is Charlize Theron's action doll fantasy character emblematic of women's attributes. But until women's capabilities necessarily rise on their own merits, distorting the MRM will make it easy to justify the need for the crutches of special treatment rather than the hard work required for a truly egalitarian world.

Interesting, that's not at all how I expected the conversation to go. While the article is admittedly a bit ignorant, it does touch on something relatively powerful - the fact that Theron is acting in her own right as

“...matches [Hardy] for sheer kickass malice and resourcefulness.”"

We complain about current-wave feminism being all about bringing men down instead of women up - but this movie shows us two strong and competent actors each in their own right.

I find it empowering to both sexes.

MRAs couldn't care less. 'Alien' was a fantastic film. Why can't they get there heads atone the simple idea that we're FOR equal rights for men, not against rights for women?

I love how they conflate MRA with anti-equality. (because feminism is equality, right, and men arent women, so mens rights is anti equality! pretty sure that qualifies as a gender studies PhD thesis)

It's like, most guys here are totally about womens rights. women in the middle east facing legitimate oppression, women being assaulted all these things we wish to see eradicated. What we're against is nonsense-feminism. We're against the fact that in a world where some women face the above issues, the cheif concerns of feminism as a movement appear to be things that annoy upper middle class college educated white women, and that is often something to do with men. we believe that manspreading, mansplaining, thin women in advertising are not real problems and that frank conversations about gender, realistic gender-neutral legal standards of consent, and DUE FUCKING PROCESS are not optional.

If my understanding of the movies plot is correct, even if it is "girl power to the max" the gender-based challenges and problems the main character has to overcome sound legitimate and i have no trouble rooting for such a character.

But maybe they're right: I beleive men shouldn't have to pay child support for another mans offspring, so maybe I really do hate women! what else could it be?

Even though I was excited to go to the theatre for this movie and pay the $30 for the ticket and concessions, after being called a "whiny-manchild", I'll just wait until it's on Netflix.
