Should gender quotas be in place for politics?

Only if we get gender quotas on healthcare spending so 50% of healthcare dollars go to men and 50% of healthcare dollars go to women.

Only if we get gender quotas on domestic abuse shelters, so that there are as many men's shelters as there are women's shelters.

Only if we get gender quotas on prisons so that at least 50% of the prison population is female.

No, I wouldn't want gender quotas on anything. Has the potential to keep the best people out of the job and would you want to know you got a job to fill a quota and not because you were the best candidate?

There would be uproar if there was a scandal linked to a quota employee when they shouldn't really have been there.

Don't care as long as the legislation is gender neutral (ie "each sex must be represented at least X%" rather than "women must be represented at least X%").

And they aren't immediately retracted once women reach 50% representation.
