If you believe that social group X is oppressing you, perform the following test:

  1. In a public forum where your comments may be attributed to you, say something disparaging about social group X as a whole (it does not have to be severe; oppressive regimes do not tolerate even mild criticism);

  2. Wait a reasonable amount of time;

  3. Answer yes or no to the following questions:

    A. Are you still alive? B. Are you uninjured? C. Are you free of imprisonment or criminal charges? D. Do you still have your job?

If you answered "yes" to all these questions, you are not oppressed by social group X.
