Personally, I couldn't give a shit about FS if I tried. In fact, I believe that its portrayal of the subject matter is immature at best and dangerous at worst. However, I do believe that everyone has the right to see it if they so choose.

I haven't seen the film, nor read the books... but it seems to me from what I've heard... that the popularity of "Fifty Shades of Grey" shows that in reality, Western women are primarily attracted to money, and that they will gladly endure whatever cons are attached to a relationship with a rich man.

It's an interesting polar opposite to a trend in women's porn in Japan, where the kind, gentle sensitive man is the focus: video link to VICE news story

I swear that we men should go "on strike" and stop throwing money at women in our relationships with them. If we collectively decided to insist on more equal financial relationships, I think it would really benefit gender relations in the US.
