Thats what my dad and I both say when we read about shit like this. They protect the "victims" identity but not the accused. It fucks up the accused's life forever. They need to protect both identities until there is a conviction and if no conviction happens then they need to seal all the records including the accused's arrest records. And before anyone says "what happens if they do it again?" sealed and expunged records are not forgotten about. They can be unsealed and presented in court as a pattern of behavior, if the person commits the same type of crime. They also still show up if you want a job in law enforcement or try to join the military.

This comment sums up my feelings on the rape trail controversy pretty damn well.
